On Jazz Festival days we are only offering a special Big Easy Bayou Tour that includes a bit of Jazz Fest history! You can add a locally-made fresh carrot, apple, ginger juice when booking. This paddle begins and ends a short walk from the entrance to the Jazz and Heritage Festival.
We will paddle with you through New Orleans’ most important and historic bayou. Bordering City Park, Bayou St. John meanders right through Mid-City and Gentilly! You’ll paddle this urban waterway alongside historic homes, active, unique communities, and festers making their way to the Fair Grounds. This paddle is perfect for beginners. Your guides will give instruction and have you paddling like a pro in no time! Together you’ll explore New Orleans’ rich history and culture, the challenges and benefits of Southern Louisiana’s diverse ecology, and the aquatic life of the bayou. You’ll keep a nice easy pace while hearing the festival in the background.
By design, these paddles go out before traffic and parking gets too nuts in the festival area, particularly the 9am trip. It allows for plenty of festing following the tour! During the earlier trip, we often hear sound checks from the bigger stages, and during the 11:30am trip we hear the actual festival.
Juiced for Jazz Fest, $50 with juice or $45 without juice
