Available by reservation only, we offer kayaking tours seven days a week, year-round. We prefer cash payment. If cash is a problem, please make other arrangements with us in advance.
We can take a minimum of 2 kayakers.
We will paddle at a pace everyone is comfortable with while soaking up the scenery and history of Bayou St John. You will paddle one of our kayaks accompanied by a tour guide and a small group of other kayakers.
Keep in mind, this is a two-man operation, if we do not respond immediately to your phone call or email, it’s probably because we’re on the water. As soon as we regain our land legs, we’ll get back to you!
Pontchartrain Paddle $60 per person
The tour lasts about four hours. This is the most dynamic of our tours; geared towards active, outdoor-type folks, we paddle the entire length of Bayou St. John and back. A couple of nutritionists have clocked this as a 1,200 calorie burning activity, making plenty of room for fried oysters and Abita beer! There is a great opportunity for bird watching and observing all sorts of other wildlife. We put down the paddles midway through the tour, take a short walk to Lake Pontchartrain and admire its beauty and vastness. On a hot day, a dip in the lake is quite refreshing!
Big Easy Bayou Tour $40 per person
Lasting about two hours, this tour may appeal to those looking for less of a time and athletic commitment. Great opportunity for first-time kayakers! The focus is mostly community with a hint of wildlife. From West Indies-style architecture of the late 1700s to Frank Lloyd Wright inspired homes, you’ll travel through time as we paddle from one charming neighborhood to the next, all the while learning the history and significance of Bayou St. John. Psst…this could easily become a booze cruise!
